North Alabama boasts more than 140 murals in various styles from various artists. On the North Alabama Mural Trail, you can explore at your leisure.

The North Alabama Mural Trail website notes that the trail allows individuals to read about the artists and motivations and storytelling associated with the murals. It encourages the reader as they travel along to take pictures and tag #NorthALMurals to showcase your experience.

Organizers state, “If you check-in at 25 sites we’ll send you a prize for participating.”

The first step of the trail is to get your free, mobile passport. This can be found at www.northalabama.org/places-to-visit/trails/mural-trail. This is a mobile list of attractions, restaurants and other retailers that provides you with discounts and other deals redeemable on your adventure.

You will click “Get Your Pass!” and fill out basic information such as your first and last name, zip code and your choice of phone number or email. After you submit the information you will receive a notification and the “passport” will be sent to you via text or email. You will then click “view passport.”

When you visit a restaurant or other participating business throughout the trail, you can present the “passport” to receive available discounts.

The website offers a sneak-peak for some of the murals you will see in person. While there are many to behold, you can also select those closest to you.

As you open your “passport” the option to view “North Alabama Mural Trail” will be in your “Experiences” tab. When you open this, a list of murals will be generated with a general distance from your zip code previously input.

Once you select the mural you would like to see you are able to favorite the mural, read about its location and history, share it with friends and family or select the “Map,” for directions.

Cullman murals are on the list, which can make for an educational downtown stroll.
