CULLMAN, Ala. – The main branch of the Cullman County Public Library System (CCPLS) is known for books, fun and its weekly community programs for patrons of all ages, abilities and imaginations.

Programs such as Knitting, Crafternoon and Children’s Storytime are consistent and longtime favorites at the library, while newer programs like Book Art and Yoga have begun to take over the scene.

“We will have several new and returning programs starting back in September,” shared CCPLS Assistant Director Shelby Creekmore.

In an effort to keep visitors in the library, staff members have been busy brainstorming and setting in motion plans for new programs along with the return of the community favorite Lego Club.

Lego Club will return on Sept. 9 at 3:30 p.m., just in time for tweens and teen to join the STEM fun at the library. The club will meet each Monday at the same time and complete various challenges using Legos and critical thinking skills.

Children’s Storytime will continue each Tuesday at 10 a.m. with a weekly story and craft, beginning Sept. 10.

Teen Tuesdays is a new monthly teen program, beginning Sept. 24, catered to teens with specialized crafts, games and snacks. Teens will meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday Family Programs are a new addition to the library’s schedule. Once a month, the library hopes to bring families together for an afternoon of family fun and togetherness through crafts, games and laughter. On Sept. 21 and Oct. 19, the CCPLS will host a Saturday Family Program.

Said Creekmore, “One Saturday per month, we will have a program designed for all ages and groups! In September, we will have a puzzle tournament and in October we will have Hocus Pocus Trivia.”
