Leona Mary Celestine “Sally” Maughn DeMarco passed away peacefully on Sep. 24, 2023, at the age of 84 in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family.
She was born June 12, 1939 in Cullman, Alabama, to William Joseph Maughn and Leona Mary Richard Maughn.
Her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she resided for many years and met her husband of 60 years, Armando DeMarco, and they had six children. They later returned to Cullman where she was a devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed her job of caring for the elderly. She loved Elvis and had a passion for jewelry and giving to many charities. She had a huge heart for taking care and loving all animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Armando DeMarco; granddaughter, Katrina Wilson; parents; and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Armando “Mony” Demarco (Ben Dowell); daughters, Mary (Tim) Chambers, Sharon (Caesar) Lee, Tina (Terry) Wilson, Traci (Joey) Goodwin, and Mary Kathryn Campbell (Steve Bentley); grandchildren, Maria, Timothy, Anthony, Christina, Christopher (Katrina), Rebecca, Ana, Amber, Daniel, Terra, Allison, Melissa, Samantha, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Audrie, Wyatt, Constantine, Jaydan, Gianna, Isaac, Lindsey, Aubrie, Makaylee, Preston, Ava, and Jacob.
We had the privilege of having the most loving and caring caretakers. Tracy and Candice loved our mother and our mother loved them as her daughters.
