GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The City of Good Hope will be participating in #CityHallSelfie Day on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
#CityHallSelfie Day is a celebration of public service showcasing pride in local government institutions. Every year since 2016, government employees, elected officials, members of the media and community members have participated in the event on a national level.
This is a yearly celebration of public service when people around the world gather in front of city halls, libraries and other local government buildings to show community pride.
The City of Good Hope has been participating in this event for three years.
“This is an opportunity for us to show our support for our public service officials and to show our community spirit,” stated Good Hope Mayor Jerry Bartlett.
#CityHallSelfie Day is organized by Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL), a professional association for people who work in and with local government.
How to participate:
- Take a picture of yourself, with a group or with a community member in front of your local government building. (It doesn’t matter if it’s a town, city, county, library or special district building.)
- Use the hashtag #CityHallSelfie when posting the photo to social media.
- Tag ELGL on social media: @ELGLNetwork on Facebook, @ELGLS0 on lnstagram, @ELGL on Linkedln, @ELGLS0 on Twitter or @localgov on TikTok.
ELGL awards recognition and prizes to the people and organizations showing the most pride and creativity on the big day.
The event will take place all day on Tuesday with free popsicles provided at Good Hope City Hall, which is located at 135 Municipal Dr., Cullman, AL 35057.
