GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The morning sun glittered brightly atop the Saints MC Clubhouse on Saturday, June 10, 2023, as dozens of riders from clubs all across the Tennessee Valley gathered to ride and raise funds for the Miracle League of Cullman County. The Saints MC, in collaboration with Friends of the Miracle League, was able to raise $13,717 to ensure that every athlete who wants to play in the recreational Miracle League is able to play, regardless of ability to pay.

For Saints MC President Touche, the Miracle League Ride is a family affair. Jacob Carden, son of ride organizer Brandi Evans, is an honorary Saints MC member. Carden also plays in the Miracle League, so when his biker brothers came to support him at a game, they realized just how much the disabled community could benefit from their help.

“He’s an honorary member of the Saints; he plays at the Miracle League,” Touche mentioned. “So just going to the games and watching him and his friends play, we realized the attendance wasn’t nearly what it should be.”

After realizing that registration cost is too often a barrier for those athletes with special needs or fixed incomes, Evans, her husband and Saints MC member BR and the Saints MC club at large collaborated and have been organizing rides each year to raise funds for those athletes who want to play.

Along with the ride, several local businesses and individuals donate items to be raffled off, including motorcycle gear like Harley Davidson helmets and toolkits to a plethora of gift cards from local eateries.

Gesturing at the multiple tables set up in front of the clubhouse packed with items, Touche smiled, “Those are all donations from businesses in this community; even late last night we had people dropping off donations!”

The ride is not limited to just the Saints MC, Touche noted, as he pointed to several different insignias or “colors” on the back of the riders’ vests.

“There’s a lot of clubs out here,” he said. “This community really supports causes like this. In the years we’ve been doing this, not a single man or woman who wants to play has had to pay a registration fee, he said. “This ride has paid for every man or woman who wants to play, for six years. That’s for baseball and basketball!”
