CULLMAN, Ala. – Members of the Pilot Club of Cullman on Thursday, June 8, 2023, presented a donation of $8,500 to Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism (CPRST) for the Field of Miracles. The donation was received by Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs and CPRST Executive Director Nathan Anderson.

“The City of Cullman is so thankful for the Pilot Club’s continued support of this program,” said Jacobs. “It is such a joy to see the faces of the kids who benefit from this facility!”

The funds were raised via the Pilot Club’s annual fashion show, which was held on April 26. Club president Peggy Harris said she was thrilled with the turnout this year, which, according to her, was the largest in the history of the event.

“The Field of Miracles is a multi-use sports complex designed to provide athletes of all abilities with a fun place to compete. The complex is considered to be the first in the country to combine a miracle field and regular-use softball fields in the same park. Miracle League Baseball utilizes the Field of Miracles during the spring and fall seasons. A rubberized field surface accommodates athletes of all capacities.” (www.cullmanrecreation.org/regional-parks)

The Field of Miracles is one of three community projects the Pilot Club supports. The remaining funds raised from the fashion show will be going to Project Lifesaver and the Pilot Light Home.
