Edward passed away peacefully at his lifelong home place of 81 years with his loving family by his side.

Edward was a genuine, all American poultry farmer/ farmer for over 30 years. He had a passion for farming and worked hard to provide for his family. After leaving the farming business, he worked in security for the next 20 years. Finally, after over 50 years of hard work and dedication, he spent the last 7 years of his life at home enjoying retirement with family and his adored pal “Buddy”.

Edward served in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969 as a Specialist 4. He took extreme pride in serving his country and shared his experiences often.

Edward was a simple, southern man who loved his family and lived a quiet life.

He leaves behind a legacy filled with many dear friends and loved ones. A legacy of values, memories, friendships, love, respect and most importantly his faith in God.

Edward has gone home to heaven to join his dear father and mother, Earl and Vonda Lee Grimmett. He leaves behind 2 daughters, Angela (Billy) Miller of Logan, WV and Tina Grimmett of Bremen, AL.; 2 grandchildren MacKenzie Miller of Logan, WV and Petty Officer Alex Lindsey of Cullman, AL; 1 great granddaughter Ella Durham of Logan, WV; A niece – Cindy McCollum; 3 nephews – Sidney, Bryan and Jason Grimmett; and his dearly beloved twin brother Elwin (Linda) Grimmett all of Cullman. Along with a host of other family and friends.

– Until we meet again, you will live on forever in our hearts.

“If you find yourself reflecting about me, take a walk in the country, feel the breeze, the sun, and the gentle rains. Soak in the smells and enjoy the sounds. On a hot, humid day, you really can hear the corn grow. Walk in the field, you’ll hear it crackle. At night, if you look to the sky, you’ll see the lights of heaven shining through the stars. Enjoy what God has given us.”

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” Revelation 21:4
