CULLMAN, Ala. – It’s an annual tradition, and it begins this Saturday at the Cullman County Museum: the Alabama Tourism Department’s April Walking Tours. The tours will take place every Saturday in April, across 25 cities and towns statewide.

According to Cullman County Museum Director Drew Green, the April Walking Tours have been around for almost 20 years. The Cullman County Museum has been participating since the beginning, and Green has been involved for the last decade.

Kicking off the April Walking Tours in Cullman will be Michael Sullins, who is known for leading the midnight walking tours during Oktoberfest. Local experts will guide the groups to different locations and provide information on Cullman’s history, sharing interesting facts and stories. Each Saturday’s tour leader will choose the route and topics, so every tour will be different.

April Walking Tours begin at 10 a.m. on the front steps of the museum. These are rain-or-shine events, and the museum will offer free admission each Saturday in April as well.
