Colony seeking Town Clerk; Community Center Caretaker

COLONY, Ala. – The Town of Colony has posted two part-time jobs that have been the subjects of recent discussion by the Town Council: Town Clerk and Community Center Caretaker. Both are part-time positions. 

Town Clerk 

According to the Town’s posting, “The candidate must work well under pressure. They must also maintain a high level of public relations and customer service skills. A background in computer skills is required. The candidate must also be willing to train in the areas of municipal government and finance. 

“The Town Clerk is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Mayor, Town Council and town residents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Finance Director, accounts receivable, cash management and assisting the Town Mayor with meetings, Town elections and any necessary clerical duties.” 

The salary is negotiable. Applications can be picked up at Town Hall and must be returned with a resumé by Monday, June 7. 

Community Center Caretaker 

Colony’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a responsible individual to open the Community Center from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. 

According to the posting, “Duties would include supervising participants with use of the gym. At the close of each session the gym needs to be left neat and locked. The caretaker would report to the Mayor or head of the Parks and Recreation any problems or needed repairs.” 

Pay is $30 per Sunday, paid weekly. Applications are available at Town Hall, and must be returned by Monday, June 7.
