CULLMAN, Ala. – The City of Cullman is reminding residents that next week, March 29 through April 2, 2021 is the City’s annual Spring Cleanup. Place your old unwanted appliances, furniture, mattresses and other large items curbside, and crews will be picking up these items throughout the week (separately from your regular garbage and recycling). This service is provided to customers at no extra cost.

Please note that rocks, dirt, bricks, concrete, construction materials, hazard materials and tires cannot be picked up.

When should items be put out?

City Councilman and Public Works Committee chairman Johnny Cook explained at the council meeting Monday evening, “Put it out on your regular trash day. So if the trash picks up Monday, have your spring cleanup stuff out Monday. If your regular trash picks up Wednesday, have your spring cleanup stuff out Wednesday. It just helps keep it all streamlined.”

Due to the large volume of items to be picked up, crews will not pick up brush, tree limbs and other yard waste during the week of March 29 through April 2, 2021.

Mayor Woody Jacobs said, “We’re excited to give everybody the opportunity to throw out stuff that doesn’t normally work on a regular garbage day. It’s always nice to get rid of that stuff you kind of have shoved up in the corner!”
