CULLMAN, Ala. – Results Physiotherapy, a physical therapy provider with offices across Alabama and the South, opened its doors Monday to its newest office at 1302 Second Ave. SW, Suite F in Cullman, near Firehouse Subs and Marco’s Pizza.

Physical therapist and Clinic Director Russell Standridge told The Tribune that Results offers a wide range of services, from traditional physical therapy to post-COVID-19 recovery.

Said Standridge, “We treat many different musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. We are skilled in providing manual therapy and exercise interventions for just about every muscle and joint in the body, and we also treat headaches; dizziness and weakness/balance deficits from neurologic injuries/diseases such as stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis, etc. We are also now treating patients post-COVID-19 to help overcome residual fatigue/weakness and shortness of breath that COVID could have caused.”

What patients should expect

According to Standridge, “Before patients even come into the therapy office, they are called by our friendly office manager who will get basic information from them over the phone and get them scheduled for their initial evaluation. The patient is evaluated on the first visit and is given education about the findings from the evaluation and how therapy can help. Patients are then guided through an individualized treatment plan based on their needs and goals for therapy, and they see the same therapist team at every visit.

“We utilize high-low tables for manual treatments and exercises, and our floor plan is open concept to allow plenty of space for improving range of motion, strength and muscular control. Results’ motto is ‘People shouldn’t have to live in pain,’ and every employee at Results believes in that statement.

“We also utilize a functional outcome tool called FOTO (Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes). Patients fill out the FOTO at the first visit to get a baseline of their current function. The patient then completes a FOTO about every five visits so the treating therapist can see how the patient is responding to treatment, and the responses to the functional questions are used to help guide treatment and make it more meaningful and specific for each patient.”

New office, experienced staff

Standridge said, “Our top-notch therapists and friendly staff in our clinics in north Alabama in the Decatur, Huntsville/Madison, Athens and Shoals areas have been doing very well making impacts on people’s lives and helping people live without pain. Patients are usually very happy with their results at Results- pun may be intended- and they consistently report their improvements to their referring doctors and write success stories for our clinics.

“It is in our best interest as a region to reach as many people as possible to let them experience the Results Physiotherapy difference in treatment approach. I have personally had several patients tell me on their first treatment session that they have tried physical therapy in the past, but it did not seem to help them; however, by the time they were discharged from therapy at Results, they had reached all of their goals and reported substantial improvements.

“The therapists at Results utilize a mixture of hands-on manual therapy techniques, effective therapeutic exercises and specific modalities to help decrease patients’ pain and improve functional mobility/strength and quality of life.

“If a patient is unsure if therapy can help them, we do offer free screens where a licensed physical therapist will perform a quick assessment and provide education to the patient about the findings.”

Standridge concluded, “Results upholds a professional atmosphere as someone would expect from a medical practice, but we also treat everyone like family and love to get to know our patients so we can tailor the treatment program to best suit each patient’s needs.”

Results Physiotherapy is located at 1302 Second Ave. SW, Suite F in Cullman. Current office hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Physician referrals are not required for evaluations or screenings, but a physician referral or signature will be required on the physical therapy plan of care to initiate treatment, due to Alabama laws.
