Students compete in FCCLA All County Beef Cook-off

CULLMAN, Ala. – Students from all over Cullman County on Wednesday, Nov. 18 met at the All Steak Restaurant for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) All County Beef Cook-Off, sponsored by the Cullman County Cattlewomen’s Association.

Participating schools were Cold Springs High School, Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA), Cullman High School, Hanceville High School, West Point High School and Vinemont High School.  Students had to prepare a main dish with at least 1 pound of beef in the recipe. 

Cold Springs’ Bailey Sharp placed first and will represent Cullman County at the Alabama State Cattlemen’s Beef Cook-off in Montgomery. 

Other winners were Allison Milligan (second place) from West Point, Alexus Wells (third place) from West Point, Piper Stricklin (fourth place) from Cold Springs and Kailey Coffey (fifth place) from Cold Springs.

The students were supported by FCCLA sponsors Amie Veal from CATA, Stephanie Blair from Cold Springs, Carin Rains from Cullman, Amy Chambers from Hanceville, Renee Lee from West Point and Tammy Whittle from Vinemont.
