Merrill: Today is the deadline to request an absentee ballot

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Today, Thursday, Feb. 27 is the deadline to request an absentee ballot for the March 3, 2020 primary election.

Eligible Alabamians can apply in person and gain access to an absentee ballot the same day.

To find out if you are eligible to cast an absentee ballot, please follow the link here.

Voters can download the form at AlabamaVotes.gov. Upon completion, the application should then be delivered to the appropriate Absentee Election Manager no later than 5 p.m. today, Feb. 27.

Subsequently, hand-delivered or postmarked absentee ballots must be returned to the appropriate Absentee Election Manager no later than 5 p.m. March 2, 2020.

Voters are encouraged to confirm their registration information, check their polling place and view their sample ballot prior to Election Day March 3, 2020.

As a reminder, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
