SIMCOE, Ala. – A fire in Simcoe Saturday destroyed one of two connected chicken houses at Heatherly Poultry Farms.

Co-Owner Stacy Heatherly said the house did not contain any chickens at the time.

By 8 p.m., the fire was under control, and firefighters from the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department were checking for hot spots in the connecting structure between the two houses.
