CULLMAN, Ala. – The Shrimp Basket is nearing completion and has begun accepting applications. General Manager J.R. High on Wednesday said he hopes to begin training around April 26. He said the restaurant’s tentative opening date is set for May 1.

Work continues inside and outside the location at 716 Second Ave. NW (U.S. Highway 31, in the old Title Max location). High and other team members will have a tent set up outside so they can meet with applicants.

Said High, “People can apply online at www.shrimpbasket.com, but we probably prefer they apply in person.”

The restaurant is currently hiring hosts/servers, bartenders, cooks and dishwashers. Applicants must be at least 17 years old.

The Shrimp Basket originated in Gulf Shores and now has locations in five states across the Southeast. It specializes in fresh seafood including shrimp, crab and oysters but also has burgers, chicken, pasta and salads.
