MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Press Association Board of Directors voted Tuesday to censure Goodloe Sutton and suspend the association membership of The Democrat-Reporter. The move follows the publication of an editorial titled "Klan needs to ride again" by Sutton on Feb. 14. The editorial has received ferocious backlash around the country.

The APA said members have a right under the organization's bylaws to address the question of expulsion of the newspaper at its next membership meeting.
