MONTGOMERY – When the Alabama State Department of Education (ASDE) released its report card for schools in December, (www.cullmantribune.com/articles/2018/12/28/state-report-card-cullman-city-schools-receive-cullman-county-schools-receive-b), it gave the overall number and letter scores without a detailed breakdown of the data that went into those scores.  That information is now available at http://54.148.24.183/Alsde/SelectSchool.

Cullman City Schools’ overall system score slipped one point from 92 to 91, but it is still within the range to make the city system one of 15 districts in the state to earn an A.  Cullman County Schools retained its B letter grade from last year, but improved five points from last year to score an 85.

In the tables below, the overall number and letter score is given by the school name.  Below that are the detailed scores. Academic achievement was determined based on the percentage of proficient students in the areas of Reading/English and Math utilizing assessments in tested grades.  Academic growth was based on individual students who demonstrated growth in reading/English and math. Chronic absenteeism represented the percentage of students who missed 15 or more days; on this, lower scores were better.  The other categories represented percentages of students who had particular characteristics or who demonstrated academic proficiencies. High schools had the extra percentile categories of Graduation Rate and College/Career Readiness.
