SEBREE, Ky. –  One man is in custody Thursday night in Sebree, Kentucky in connection with threats that were called in to West Point Middle School and Yutaka Technologies in Cullman County Thursday morning.

According to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), CCSO investigators worked with the Sebree Kentucky Police Department and the Webster County Sheriff's Office to place John Allen York into custody on charges of making a terrorist threat.

Early Thursday morning, West Point Middle School received a call from a male, now identified as York, who stated all the West Point Schools would be blown up at some point during the day. The schools were placed on a soft lockdown and CCSO deputies searched all of the buildings for any suspicious devices.

At the same time, Yutaka Technologies, located in the city of Cullman, received a bomb threat.

CCSO investigators worked with Cullman Police Department Investigators and determined that York was responsible for both bomb threats.

The CCSO said that investigators determined York was in Kentucky, so they reached out to the two local agencies.

"First off, I am glad that the suspect is in custody in Kentucky and we will be seeking to extradite him back here to Cullman County at the earliest possible time to face the consequences for his actions,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “We take calling in a bomb threat to a local school and business very seriously. Also, I can't stress enough how much I want to think the Investigators from my office and also CPD for the work they did today. Investigators do work behind the scenes that is oftentimes not seen by the public, but is very, very important to solving cases.”
