Saturday, Dec. 9

Good Hope Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park, 2 p.m. beginning at Good Hope High School

The annual Good Hope Christmas Parade will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. The parade, which will start at the high school and end at the municipal park, will be followed by Christmas in the Park, where visitors can enjoy the kid zone with train rides, hayrides, bouncy houses, the cookie house and Santa Claus. Free food will be provided by the City of Good Hope.

 

Holly Pond Christmas Parade and Cards in the Park, 3:30 p.m. in Holly Pond

The annual Holly Pond Christmas Parade is this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. The parade will end at Governor’s Park, where the Holly Pond Chorus will perform a program of Christmas favorites. There will be refreshments, music and of course, Santa.

In addition, as a part of this event, the walking paths in the park will be lined with luminaries, each with the name of someone remembered or honored by a family or individual. Luminaries are being sold at various Holly Pond merchants with the proceeds to benefit the Holly Pond Civitan Scholarship fund.

Cullman High School Performing Arts Presents: "Scrooge: The Musical" 7 p.m. at Cullman High School

Cullman High School Performing Arts Presents: "Scrooge: The Musical" on Saturday, Dec. 9 and Monday, Dec. 11* at 7 p.m.

Voted Best in Show at 2017 State Trumbauer!

Tickets are $10 adults and $5 children and may be purchased at the door of the CHS auditorium.

*The show was originally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 8 but was moved to Monday, Dec. 11 due to winter weather.

 

Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10

West Point Arts Department 2nd Annual Christmas Spectacular, West Point High School

The West Point wind ensemble, Warriorettes, color guard, majorettes, dance studio, percussion ensemble and singers will be performing some of your favorite Christmas tunes!

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

Also, the West Point Christmas Dance Recital will take place Dec. 10 at 4 p.m.

Location for all shows: West Point High School auditorium

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or from any West Point band student.

*If you are able, please bring a small gift (toys or clothing) for the West Point Christmas Love program!

 

Sunday, Dec. 10

Christmas Carnival at Garden City First Baptist Church, 2-4 p.m.

Free for the whole family!

Carnival games, prizes, inflatable, food, pictures with Santa, cake walk and so much more!

Don't miss out on this fun family event!

The church is located at 407 Third St. W, Garden City, AL 35070.

 

Fridays and Saturdays, though Dec. 22

Santa Claus at Dodge City Park, 6-8 p.m.

Santa Claus will be at Dodge City Park Friday and Saturday nights through Dec. 22, from 6-8 p.m.

Bring the kids by for hot chocolate and cookies with Santa, while enjoying the lights.

 

Through Sunday, Dec. 31

15th Annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display, 5 p.m. at Sportsman Lake Park

The 15th annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display at Sportsman Lake Park will take place from now through Dec. 31*.

The cost is $10 per vehicle.

This year's display will have a sleigh ride, train ride, horse and carriage rides, a snow machine, photo booth, and much more. “Come by to see Santa and play in the snow!” (Santa will only be here until the 23rd.)

The display will be closed Dec. 4-5 and Dec. 11-12; Wednesday and Thursdays, open from 5-9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, open from 5-10 p.m.; Sundays, open from 5-9 p.m.

 

Holly Pond Cards in the Park, daily at Governor’s Park

In cooperation with the merchants of Holly Pond and the Town of Holly Pond, the Holly Pond Civitans are sponsoring this year’s Christmas Cards in the Park. Various merchants, school, church and civic groups, as well as individuals, created giant Christmas greeting “cards,” which are being displayed at Governor’s Park in Holly Pond from Dec. 1-31.
