Cullman Regional Foundation Gala set for April 29; tickets now available

CULLMAN – This year’s much anticipated Cullman Regional Foundation Gala is scheduled for Saturday, April 29. The event will be held at the Cullman Civic Center, at 6 p.m.

The theme this year is “Growing Today For A Better Tomorrow.”.As in the past, the event will feature a lovely formal dinner. Following the meal, there will be a special program, a silent auction and an evening of dancing.

“The annual event recognizes individuals who have played a significant role in advancing healthcare for our community through Cullman Regional,” said Foundation President, Champ Crocker. “We are pleased to announce the H.C. Arnold Humanitarian Award honoree, Lori McGrath, DNP, CRNP and the Dr. Herman C. Ensor Excellence in Health Care honoree, Dr. Howard Williamson.”

Williamson has been practicing medicine since 1978 as an OB/GYN.  Over the 39 years, he has served on several different committees such as the Medical Executive Committee, Credentials Committee, Physician Wellness and the Utilization Committee.  He has provided services to the Cullman area and is a leader in the medical community. 

McGrath is being honored her for service and advocacy to advance healthcare at Cullman Regional. As a nurse practitioner, McGrath manages the Palliative Care Services and Heart Failure programs at the medical center. She has been a faithful supporter of local charities and is philanthropic contributor to the Cullman Regional Foundation capital campaigns.

The Spirit of Volunteerism Award honors devoted individuals who have provided servant leadership and dedicated service work impacting the medical center. Amy Wood and Deborah McAfee are the 2017 honorees for giving of their time and talents on the Service Guild.

The Commitment to a Cause Award honors individuals who serve through exceptional generosity, embody devotion and commitment to the community through service work impacting the medical center. Jerry Jacob will receive this honor in recognition of his work with the Good Samaritan Health Clinic. 

The Cullman Regional Service Guild members always do a wonderful job in helping to organize the Gala, making it one of the most anticipated events among many worthwhile events in Cullman. The Service Guild is led by President Cindy Ponder. Annual fundraising events like the Gala give community members an opportunity to become more involved in local philanthropy, which benefits everyone at some point in their lives.

Live entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Edd Jones Orchestra. The special menu for the dinner was created and will be catered by Designs by Grace.
