Sacred Heart Church Relay For Life BBQ Potato Supper

Sacred Heart Church will be hosting a Relay for Life BBQ potato supper, Saturday, April 9 from 5- 8 p.m.  Plates will be $8 for adults and $5 for children.

 

Berlin Community Open House to Discuss Incorporation

The community of Berlin is taking the first steps toward incorporation. This Saturday, April 9, there will be an open house at the Berlin Community Center from 2-7 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend to get information and, most importantly, sign the petition for incorporation.

 

Good Hope Outlaws Football, Cheer and Majorette Signups

Signups for football, cheer and majorettes for the 2016 season will be Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the primary school gym. All football players will need a copy of their birth certificate at signups. The registration fee is $75 per child and additional siblings are $65 each. Signups are open to children who attend Good Hope Schools or Harmony School and are in grades K-6 for the 2016-2017 school year. Uniform fittings will be announced at a later date. 50 Yesterday and Today: A Musical Birthday Celebration for Wallace State

As part of Wallace State Community College’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Wallace State Singers will present a special concert commemorating the last five decades. 50 Yesterday and Today: A Musical Birthday Celebration for Wallace State, will be held April 7-9 in the Recital Hall of the Burrow Center for Fine and Performing Arts. Shows will be at 7 p.m., nightly. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Reserve tickets by called 256.352.8277. Tickets will also be available at the door.

 

FREE Smoke Alarm Installations for Cullman City and County Residents

April 7, 3-7 p.m.; April 8, 3-7 p.m.; April 9, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.; and April 10, 1-6 p.m.

The Cullman American Red Cross, Commission on Aging and the United Way of Cullman County are partnering to provide FREE smoke alarm installations and life-saving fire safety education. For more information or to schedule an appointment for installation, call 256-734-0921.

 

CP&R Youth Outdoor Adventure Program

Miss Horizon of Hope Pageant

April 9 at West Point High School auditorium at 10 a.m. For girls up to 19 years old, two divisions for cancer survivors; Each contestant wins a crown; Call 256-338-6652 or 256-338-6650 for more info. Proceeds go to St. Vincent’s Bruno Cancer Center. Sponsored by Circle of Hope.

 

Cullman 5K Race to Solve the Puzzle

Join the Autism Society of Alabama and help solve the puzzle of autism spectrum disorders one step at a time! Relay For Life Pancake Breakfast

Relay For Life of Cullman County is hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 9, from 7-9:30 a.m., at Applebee’s of Cullman on Cherokee Avenue. Plates are $5 each and include pancakes and sausage with coffee, hot chocolate, tea, water or Coke products to drink.

 

11th Annual Colton's Cookout for a CURE (in memory of Colton Evans)

Will be held from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, at Werner's Trading Co. on Hwy. 278 W in Cullman. BBQ & Chips or Deep Fried Hot Dogs and French Fries. CP&R Art in the Park

CP&R's FREE Art in the Park event will take place April 9, 2016, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Heritage Park! Dozens of craft vendors will be on site as well as an art show, sidewalk chalk contest, free crafts for the kids, & more!

 

Community Yard Sale & Craft Fair

The spring Community Yard Sale & Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, April 9 in conjunction with CP&R’s Art in the Park! Cullman County Democrats

The Cullman County Democrats meet on the second Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 9 at 8 a.m. in the Chamber of Commerce Conference Room. April’s meeting will feature special guest Ron Crumpton, who is running for U.S. Senate against longtime incumbent, Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Alabama.

 

“Beauty and the Beast” Presented by Cullman High School

On Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, the Cullman High School drama and choral departments will present their rendition of Disney’s Broadway musical “Beauty and the Beast.” CHS Theater Director Wayne Cook and CHS Choir Director Sarah Driskell will lead the production. Opening night is Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 9, showtimes are 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12. Senior citizens and children under the age of 12 will receive $3 tickets at Saturday's 12:30 p.m. show.

Color Me Cullman 5K

April 9 at 8 a.m. at Sportsman Lake Park; The Color Me Cullman 5K is a colorful experience where we promote healthiness and happiness. Our event is all about people of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes ready to get COLORFUL! Come on out to Sportsman Lake wearing a white T-shirt as your blank canvas and get ready to become a piece of artwork!

Saving Forgotten Warriors

Organization helps area disabled Marine and Vietnam veteran Cpl. Kenneth Beasley and other area veterans in need. Clean-up days for Cpl. Beasley are each Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Beasley’s home at 185 Co. Road 823. Volunteers are needed and donations are accepted. AA Meetings

The Cullman Downtown Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 1519 St. Joseph St. NW. Every day at noon will be an open discussion meeting, Sunday at 7 p.m. is an open discussion and speaker meeting, Tuesday at 7 p.m. is an open discussion meeting (with meal at 6:30 p.m.), Wednesday at 7 p.m.; Thursday at 10:30 a.m. is women's big book study; and Friday at 7 p.m. is a closed discussion meeting (no card signed).
