CULLMAN – April is here and that means historic walking tours will be taking place all over North Alabama. Community historians will guide these free tours through the historic districts or courthouse square areas of their hometowns. The hour-long tours start at 10 a.m. on April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Learn all about Cullman’s rich history as you stroll along the sidewalks. Stops will include Colonel Cullmann and his home, the Clark family, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Parker Bank and Trust, People’s Drug Company, Stiefelmeyer’s and many other area landmarks.

“We really appreciate our regulars and invite you to join us this year,” said Drew Green from the Cullman County Museum. “This Saturday starting at 10 a.m. on the front steps of the museum. We have some interesting insights and stories to share.”

The tours will begin on the steps of the Cullman County Museum at 10 a.m. each Saturday this month.

“We have a very interesting walk planned for you this year,” Green added. “This event is free, so what is stopping you?”

Spring is a great time of year to spend outdoors, and the walking tours are a great way to get out and enjoy the wonderful weather. The tours are something the whole family can do together. For those who love history, why not stop by and take a walk and hear about Cullman’s early years.
