Brenda Sartin, 75, of Cullman County, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 9, 2026, with her devoted husband, Gary, by her side. She was born on February 20, 1951, to Jim Bird Lynn and Teresa Lorene Lynn.
Funeral Service for Brenda Gay Sartin will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with officiating; burial at Valley Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, nurse, and friend. She married Gary Wayne Sartin on July 10, 1971, and together they shared 55 years of marriage. Their life together was centered around their family, their faith, and serving others.
As the wife of a minister, Brenda was a strong and active part of the churches where her husband served. Her faith and willingness to serve others was an important part of her life, and she touched many people through her kindness, strength, and devotion. After her diagnosis, Brenda and Gary returned home to Mt. Grove Baptist Church.
Brenda loved her family deeply and treasured the time she spent with them. She also had a creative side and enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, and crafts. She was an accomplished gardener with a remarkable ability to grow almost anything and found great joy in caring for her garden.
Brenda loved being a nurse and took great pride in caring for others. After graduating from Good Hope High School in 1970, she went on to earn her associate degree in nursing from Wallace State Community College in 1983 and spent 30 years as a Registered Nurse at Cullman Regional Medical Center where is served as a charge nurse. She also served as rapid responder with the Loretta Fire Department. Her compassionate nature and caring heart were reflected not only in her profession but in the way she lived her everyday life.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Gary Wayne Sartin; her brother, Johnny Lynn; her daughter, Charidee Sirvio and her husband, Rodney; and her sons, James Sartin and his wife, Marcia, and Justin Sartin and his wife, Shannon.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Makayla Shoemaker and her husband, Trevor; Sylus Sartin and his wife, Stephanie; Allie Sartin and future husband, Tanner Malin; Adeline Pearl Sartin; Elijah Sartin; and Stella Sartin; and her great-grandchildren, Sadie Claire Shoemaker and Benjamin James Sartin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Bird Lynn and Teresa Lorene Lynn, her brother, Franky Lynn, and her sister, Loretta Ann Taylor.
Her family expresses their deepest gratitude to Gary for the unwavering love and care he provided Brenda after her diagnosis of vascular dementia eight years ago. His devotion ensured her final years were filled with comfort and compassion.
Brenda will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, her love for her family, her devotion to her faith, her relentless worth ethic, and the many lives she touched through her work as a nurse, wife, mother, and friend. Her love will continue to live on through her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
