CULLMAN, Ala. – The Muddy Misfits and Goat Island Brewing will host the Off-Road Candy Crawl Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2-4 p.m. at the brewery. The event will benefit the Cullman County Animal Shelter.
Event organizers and Muddy Misfits founding members Angel Knighten and Jenny Smith said this is the second year for this event and they look forward to many more years of it.
“We wanted to do something fun for the children in our community and love that Goat Island is family friendly and also does a lot for the community, so we reached out to them about partnering for this event,” Knighten said. “Attendees can go to the Goat Island or the Muddy Misfits Facebook page for more information. As an attendee, the only requirement is to come and have a good time! As a participant, come with candy to give out and a smile! Anyone is welcome to participate.”
Knighten said all donations will go to the Cullman County Animal Shelter, which will also be on-site with adoptable pets.
“Showing up is the best support,” Knighten said. “Bringing donations of food, supplies, treats, collars or funds will be appreciated.”
The Muddy Misfits is a group of friends who like to get together for off-roading, quality fun and helping in the community, Smith added.
“We started our group after realizing we don’t necessarily fit the Jeep ‘mold’ and were looking for something a little different,” Smith said. “We are currently based in Cullman County with members in Morgan and Franklin County, and continuing to grow.”
Goat Island Taproom Manager Mandy Hamm said they look forward to the event.
“It will be a great day for the entire family,” Hamm said. “Come and support this fun event! Cheers!”
