76 Wallace State student-athletes earn NJCAA All-Academic honors

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State Community College placed 76 student-athletes on the National Junior College Athletic Association’s 2025-26 All-Academic teams.

The Lions had 24 student-athletes earn first-team recognition, 24 make the second team and 28 receive third-team honors. Wallace State’s honorees represented 13 athletic programs.

To qualify for the NJCAA All-Academic First Team, student-athletes must finish the academic year with a 4.0 grade-point average. Second-team selections earned GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99, while third-team honorees recorded GPAs from 3.60 to 3.79.

Wallace State baseball led the college with 15 selections. Softball followed with nine honorees, while men’s tennis and women’s basketball each had eight. Cheerleading produced seven selections.

Soccer, volleyball, women’s cross country and women’s golf each placed five student-athletes on the All-Academic teams. Women’s tennis added four selections, while men’s cross country and men’s golf each had two. Men’s basketball had one honoree.

Wallace State’s 76 selections included 48 student-athletes who recorded GPAs of at least 3.80 during the academic year.

The Wallace State honorees, listed by sport, were:

Baseball: First Team — sophomores Landon Blackwood, Aiden Boileau, Joseph Lowery and Brandon Sanford, and freshman Christopher Gross. Second Team — sophomore Michael Rasbury and freshmen Tyde Borden, Carsen Burdette, Max Hotze, Tucker Rickman and Samuel Vincent. Third Team — sophomore Wesley Seymore and freshmen Dyris Martinez, Abel Montas and Tyler Woodham.

Cheerleading: First Team — freshman Rachel Dueland. Second Team — sophomore Adyson Wallace and freshman Jo-Anna Phillips. Third Team — sophomores Ashley Benefield and Gracelyn Peterson, and freshmen Ashlyn Danecker and Emery Hester.

Men’s Basketball: First Team — sophomore Sawyer Griffin.

Men’s Cross Country: First Team — freshman Luke Allen. Third Team — sophomore Samuel McCrary.

Men’s Golf: Second Team — freshman Eli Proctor. Third Team — freshman Benjamin Johnson.

Men’s Tennis: First Team — freshman Alexander Grube-Anderson. Second Team — sophomore William Johnson and freshman Matias Vargas. Third Team — sophomore Alexander Hernandez and freshmen Artur Beifuss, Camdyn Clifton, Tom Koepf and Luka Uzelac.

Soccer: First Team — freshmen Kaisei Abram, Shishio Abram and Jax Bartlett. Third Team — sophomore Mitchell Perez and freshman Logan Ortega-Ramos.

Softball: First Team — sophomore Leah Graves and freshmen Sydney Gurley and Ashlynn Massey. Second Team — sophomores Blakelyn Austin and Kaelyn Jones. Third Team — sophomore Reese Decker and freshmen Teagen Harmon, Alexandra Tatum and Kenley Vaughn.

Volleyball: Second Team — freshmen Darcy Alford, Sofia Sobol and Kenzie Wilson. Third Team — sophomores Kaylee Roman and Molly Shifflet.

Women’s Basketball: First Team — sophomores Zamyra Goode, Bailey Tetro and Heather Tetro. Second Team — sophomores Kameron Sanders and Karma Wynn. Third Team — sophomores Idaysia Mercer, Jada Peterson and Chloe Rule.

Women’s Cross Country: First Team — freshmen Rachel Matthews and Brookelyn Morgan. Second Team — freshmen Ann Marie Land and Payton Ridley. Third Team — freshman Hanna Sheffield.

Women’s Golf: First Team — sophomores Mallory Brooks and Maggie Chastain. Second Team — sophomore Alyssa Warren and freshmen Jazmin Conn and Keilyn Cox.

Women’s Tennis: First Team — freshmen Jayden Johnson and Madison Standifer. Second Team — sophomore Lydia Lichlyter. Third Team — sophomore Jaedyn Martin.
