Obituary: Brent Nicholas Smith

Brent Nicholas Smith, 43 of Baileyton passed away at his home Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born August 6, 1982, the son of Clifford Hershel Smith and Deborah A. Harper Smith. He was a 2000 graduate of Cullman High School and was currently working for Walker Brothers. Brent was a beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend whose generous spirit touched countless lives. 
 
Brent will be remembered for his sharp wit, keen intelligence, gentle nature, and unwavering generosity. A true gentle giant, he was always ready to lend a hand and would give anyone the shirt off his back without hesitation. His family knew they could call on him at any time, for any reason, and he would be there. He loved deeply, gave freely, and brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. 
 
He is survived by his companion, LaShay Corbin; his parents, Cliff and Debbie Smith; his sister, Amy (Bo) Alexander; his nephew, Case; his nieces, Noelle and Langley; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, T.Q. and Olean Harper, and Egbert Smith and Esther Mae Buckelew Smith. 
 
Funeral Service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Cornerstone Revival Center with Brother Greg Wilbanks officiating and eulogy by Braxton Miller. The burial will follow in the Baileyton Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. 
 
Visitation will be 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday at the Cornerstone Revival Center.
