CULLMAN, Ala. – The week’s Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week Ms. Joanne is not asking for much. The approximately 5-year-old terrier mix is a low-energy girl with a gentle spirit, a grateful heart and the kind of quiet presence that settles into a room without demanding anything from it.
Ms. Joanne seems a little bewildered by shelter life. Evidently, her life before now was not always easy, but she has not let that hard road take away her softness. Her attitude remains grateful and undemanding, and she cherishes the time spent with her.
She especially enjoys being groomed, leaning into the care and attention as if she understands that kindness is something worth holding onto. The sparkles of gray around her eyes only add to her beauty, carrying the look of a dog with a story still waiting to be shared with someone special.
Ms. Joanne’s personality is deep, gentle and irresistible. She is the quintessential companion or therapy dog, perfect for someone looking for a loyal friend with a calm presence and a loving heart.
Her adoption fee is $130 and includes vaccines, spay, microchip, wormer, general exam at the shelter and general wellness.
Visit the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Contact the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 256-734-5448 or cullmananimalshelter@co.cullman.al.us.
If Ms. Joanne has already been adopted by the time you inquire, there are plenty of other wonderful friends at the shelter still waiting for their forever homes.
