CULLMAN, Ala. – The first Miss Cullman Homeschool Fair Queen Pageant took place on May 8 at Harmony School, with Abby Maples, an 11th-grade homeschool student, taking the crown.
Taylor Folks, a Cullman native, Vinemont High School graduate and the current Mrs. Alabama American, directed the pageant. She explained that the program aims to help homeschool students build confidence, leadership skills and find encouragement through pageantry.
Folks, who also homeschools her children, said she hopes the pageant will have a positive impact on local families and become a valued tradition for homeschool students.
For her community service project, Maples talked about encouraging athletes to be positive role models on and off the field. In the talent portion, she performed “Riptide” and played the ukulele.
Maples will compete in the 2026 Miss Cullman County Fair this fall alongside winners from local schools.
