Funeral Service for John Schafer, age 68, of Vinemont, will be at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Jacob Watts and Chuck Johnston officiating; burial at Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Schafer passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his residence. He was born August 14, 1957, to Fred Schafer and Deloris Daniels Schafer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Julianna Schafer, Jim Schafer and Ricky Schafer and a stepson, James Floyd.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Schafer; daughter, Katti (Patrick) Mann; sons, Jerred (Crystal) Schafer and Erik (Katlin) Schafer; step-Son, Chris Miller; grandchildren, John-Patrick Mann, Alianna, Maverick, Kolson and Bankston Schafer, One on the way-Simon John Schafer; siblings, Jan (Fuller) Smith, Fred (Cathy) Schafer, Gerald (Donna) Schafer and Nita Schafer.
John was a loving husband, father, paw-paw & friend. He owned Schafer Trucking for 40 years before retiring to be a paw-paw.
