CULLMAN, Ala. – The United Way of Cullman County is seeking community partners to sponsor its Gas Card Program, an initiative designed to provide immediate transportation assistance to local households facing hardship.

Transportation challenges can prevent families from getting to work, children from making medical appointments or caregivers from being present when they are needed most.

The Gas Card Program addresses those barriers by placing fuel assistance directly into the hands of Cullman County residents who need it.

All funds raised through the program remain in Cullman County and are distributed locally. Each gas card is valued at $10 and is designated for fuel use only.

Cards must be redeemed in person, are limited to one per household and carry no cash value. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced.

A $1,000 sponsorship provides 100 gas cards, helping 100 local families with immediate transportation support.

United Way officials describe the program as a simple and effective way for businesses, organizations and families to make a tangible impact in the community.

Sponsors help ensure neighbors can travel to work, attend medical appointments, meet school-related needs and respond to crisis-related situations without transportation standing in the way.

Those interested in becoming a sponsor or learning more about the Gas Card Program are encouraged to contact Taylor Johnson at tjohnson@uwaycc.org

United Way of Cullman County emphasized that community partnerships are essential to keeping families moving forward and strengthening stability across the county.
