Roy James Burnham passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Logan, Alabama and was 96 years old. Funeral service for Roy J. Burnham of Cullman, Alabama will be at noon on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Tim Aris officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem West Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
Roy was born on Oct. 23, 1929, to David Thomas and Mary E. Burnham and had four brothers and two sisters.
Roy worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron, Ohio and retired with 35 years of service. Upon early retirement, Roy, Bonnie, and Jon moved back to his home state of Alabama to be near family, farm a little, and Roy loved working with his honeybees.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son, Stephen Burnham, and grandson, Weston Burnham. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Burnham; daughter, Anita (Ivan) Self; son, Timothy (Cathy) Burnham; son, Jonathan (Jackie) Burnham; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, pharmacists, nurses, emergency responders, and staff involved in Roy’s care over the years.
