CULLMAN, Ala. – Supervisors were recognized at the Cullman County Soil and Water Conservation District (CCSWCD) meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 13. The supervisors were recognized for their long-standing commitment, highlighting the work they do to support environmental protection and agricultural sustainability across the county.
The CCSWCD is governed by a five-member board that guides local conservation programs. Two Cullman County supervisors were recognized with Pins of Service. Tim Compton was honored for 25 years of service, while Darrel Haynes received a pin recognizing five years on the board.
In addition to Compton and Haynes, the remaining supervisors were acknowledged during the presentation for their collective service to the district. Board members have served varying lengths of time, with several serving for more than a decade, demonstrating a long-term commitment to conservation efforts in Cullman County.
These supervisors regularly engage with the community, promote best conservation practices and work to ensure the county’s soil and water resources remain protected and sustainable for Cullman’s future generations. They also serve as public officials appointed through the state system and are expected to uphold high standards while representing local landowners and supporting the mission of Alabama’s soil and water conservation program.
The CCSWCD credited its board members for their devotion, describing them as a fundamental element of local conservation efforts and an important element of the agricultural community.
