Mrs. C. W. Wells of Birmingham was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell and children the latter part of last week, returning home Sunday morning.
Alfred Howse of the Merchant Marines, who is stationed at Mobile, spent last weekend with his father, W. M. Howse and family.
Rev. and Mrs. V. Sizemore, Jackie and Jennie spent last Friday night with relatives in Birmingham.
Johnnie Self, who is working at the ship yard in Decatur, was at home for the week-end with his wife and children.
Mrs. T. N. Martin spent several days in Gadsden last week with Mr. and Mrs. Claud Martin.
Mrs. Foster Lorance of Cullman visited her mother, Mrs. Mattie Screws and Mrs. Ethel Palmer last Friday.
Mrs. Huey Oaks and J. M. Moses of Gadsden visited their mother, Mrs. Loyal Moses, last week.
Little Cornelius Kreps, Jr., and brother, Thomas of Columbus, Ga., are at their grand mother’s, Mrs. Mattie Screws. Their mother is seriously ill in the hospital at Columbus, Ga.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell visited his mother who became very ill near Boaz a week ago.
Mrs. Washington Maze of Arab visited with her father, J. R. Haynes, and family several days recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Pruett and children of Pisgah visited relatives of this community last week-end.

Mr. and Mrs. John Bishop and little son visited his sick brother in Birmingham recently.
Miss Lea Thrasher has been spending some time in Cullman with her brother. His wife is very sick.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Duke and Virginia have just returned from an extended visit in Connecticut. The Dukes’ live at Phelan and came to visit the John Thrashers last week.
Jack Payne is working in Tuscaloosa and Mrs. Payne in Cullman.
Mrs. Clifford Newton and Mrs. Garland Newton visited at Antioch Sunday.
John Thrasher and sisters, Lela and Lea visited relatives in Birmingham recently.
Mr. and Timothy Adamson are moving to Warner, from W. I. (Lidy) Walker’s place.
The Clarence Johnsons attended the singing at Gold Ridge Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Lena Schnittker, of Mt. Olive visited Mrs. Eva Handley last week.
The singing at Berlin Baptist Church Saturday night was very good. Come again next third Saturday night. Also first Sunday night to hear Berlin sing.
Ira Parrish is in better health.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Williams of Decatur visited Mrs. Effie Williams, Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Duskin and family attended birthday dinner near Hamby’s Chapel last Sunday.
C. I. Walker goes to Florida to start his new dwelling first of this week, having already laid the foundation.
Clara Goggins is home from her job.
Mrs. Jack Payne is moving to Simcoe soon. Her husband works at Tuscaloosa.
Annie Lou Goggins, who is studying for a nurse in Birmingham, was home last week-end.

No Bike After Game!
When J. L. Herring, Jr. was ready to go home after the Cullman-Moulton football game Friday night he couldn’t find his motor bike. It had been stolen while he watched the game.
However, the vehicle was found Monday at Thomas McDonald’s home and McDonald was placed in the county jail charged with grand larceny.
To and Fro
The only fire in the city this week was a small blaze at the West Cullman Gin on Tuesday afternoon.
Five Cullman boys left Monday, Sept. 17 for induction into military service. They were Roy William Mitchell, Box 328, Cullman; James Leon Tucker, 404 7th Avenue East, Cullman; Richard Pierce Johnston Jr., Box 353, Cullman; Doyle Caden Kinney, 1245 5th Ave. No. Nashville; Charles Watson Stisher, 812 2nd St. East.
Cullman High welcomed three new teachers this week, Mrs. L. W. Waters, Mrs. T. M. Davidson and Lon Cee. The enrollment at that school has increased from 894 last year to 961 this year.
It was a man instead of a cat that curiosity nearly killed out in the Mt. Herman community the other day. Mollie Hyatt became so curious after seeing his cat climb up and down a shade tree in his yard, that finally he brought a ladder and climbed 15 feet up after the cat. There where a large limb grew was a decayed place in which was a home for the cats four baby kittens.
The Cullman High Home Economics department will be the scene of the Avondale Mills fall wardrobe fashion show, sponsored by Stiefelmeyers Thursday, Sept. 27. The show will be in the form of a tea from 3:30 until 6 o’clock with F.H.A. members and Home Ec students as models.
The regular monthly singing will be at Panama Church Saturday night, Sept. the 22nd. Many good guest singers are schedule to be there.
An adult typing class will be organized on Monday, Sept. 24 in Cullman High School at 7:00 P. M. Mrs. Sue Oden Hauk, teacher, requests all interested in taking the course to attend the meeting.
The County P.T.A. school of instruction will be held at the Klein building on Monday, Sept. 24 at 2 o’clock.
The Cullman High P.T.A. will meet at 7:30 o’clock on Tuesday evening, Sept. 25.
