FALKVILLE, Ala. – The 28th annual Falkville Fall Festival will be held in the downtown area of Falkville on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Marketing Coordinators Danielle Hayes and Brooke Jones are involved in the planning, organizing and the Color Me Downtown 5K run and walk, all associated with the festival event.
“There will be 120 arts and crafts, church and additional type vendors, five to seven food vendors and more,” Hayes said. “We will have a little bit of everything from purses to jewelry to dog treats, candles, ceramics, boutiques, custom shirts, jams, jellies, jerky and much more. We will have a carnival food truck barbecue, Mexican and Italian food truck. The kids will also have bounce houses, and a train riding around pulling kids this year.”
Jones said they will start things off with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m.
“We have a free 5K walk/run that includes a T-shirt for all who register and the race begins at 8 a.m.,” Jones said. “We have a tractor show/tractor parade, car show, kid zone, food and arts and crafts vendors, and live entertainment.”
Hayes said if residents are interested in setting up at the festival, the vendor fee for arts and crafts is $25, $40 for food vendors and $15 for electric and water hook-ups.
“The 5K is free, but we do ask that participants pre-register for their T-shirt sizes since they are first come, first serve,” Hayes said. “The 5K begins at South Park and ends at South Park early registration begins at 7:30. Race begins promptly at 8 a.m.”
Hayes said the divisions for male and female are 0-14 , 15- 19, 20-29, 30- 39, 42-49, 52-59, 60-69 and 70-plus.
“Over the past four years of helping with the 5K, I have truly enjoyed being a part of this event,” Hayes said. “There’s nothing like watching each child and adult cross the finish line — cheering them on while the beautiful colors fill the air. It’s such a fun, family-filled event, and I’m grateful to be part of something so special in our Falkville community.”
