Funeral services for Patricia Dean-Ponder, 76, of Hanceville will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 19th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Arkadelphia Cemetery. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Tuesday at Hanceville Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Ms. Ponder was born on Saturday, May 28, 1949, in Cullman, Alabama to the late S.A. & Edith Cone-Dean. She died on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Patricia spent her life pouring into others, guided by a heart full of compassion and a steadfast commitment to her community. For several years, she faithfully managed a food bank, ensuring that countless families were nourished both physically and spiritually. She also served as a librarian and worked diligently in clerical services, roles in which her attention to detail, organizational gifts, and strong work ethic shone brightly. Blessed with many talents, Patricia was a woman of creativity and refinement. She delighted in sewing and crafts of all kinds, using her hands to bring beauty and joy to others. Music also held a treasured place in her life; as an avid piano player, she found both comfort and inspiration in the melodies she shared.
Survivors include her two sons, Benjamin Ponder & Daniel Ponder; grandchildren, Jake Campbell & Clay Campbell; great grandson, Keegan Campbell; two sisters, Joan Hill & Beverly Dean; and nieces and nephews, Cynthia Bland, Janice Meyer, Valerie Dotson, Jason Mays and Tressie Dean.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Ponder was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Dean; and sister, Dot Mays.
