Dale Ward Wilson, age 71, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Dale was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and deep love for his family and the simple joys of life.

Dale lived with a generous heart and a playful spirit. He was the kind of man who could always be counted on for a good laugh—whether he meant to be funny or not. Goofy, clumsy, and endlessly warm-hearted, Dale had a way of making people feel at ease. His love for hunting and flying model airplanes reflected his appreciation for quiet focus and the freedom of open skies. He also found happiness in the great outdoors—camping under the stars, walking the beach, or simply being near the water.

He adored his family, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them. Dale was a proud and devoted husband to his wife of 30 years, Kathy Wilson, and a loving father to his daughters Allison (Jeff) Carter, Stacey McMinn, Alex (Justin) Carrington, Heather (Dwain) Floyd, and Sons Wesley Wilson, Will (Savannah) Wilson, and Danon Wilson. He also shared a special bond with his sister, Debbie (Mark) Swafford.

Dale was the kind of grandfather who earned the loving nickname “rat dog” for his grandkids—a term of endearment that only he could make feel special and cherished. He loved each of them fiercely and made sure they always knew it.

He had a tender spot for animals too, especially his sweet dog Laney, who was by his side until her passing. Dale also took joy in feeding and watching his backyard birds, finding peace in their fluttering presence.

Dale is also remembered with love by special family members Boyd Posey and Hailey Kilpatrick, who held a meaningful place in his life and heart.

His life was filled with laughter, loyalty, and love. Dale Ward Wilson will be missed deeply and remembered always for his warmth, his humor, and the genuine joy he brought to everyone who knew him.

A visitation for Dale will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Flint Creek Southern Baptist Church, 3048 Co Rd 1354, Vinemont, AL 35179, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2 p.m.
