Cullman man killed in Hwy. 31 crash

CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 31 and 24th Street Southeast.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick identified the victim as William Lavon Harper, 73. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Kilpatrick said Harper was the only fatality in the incident.

Cullman Police Department Chief Joey Duncan said officers responded to the crash at approximately 10:26 a.m. 

Due to the severity of the injuries, the department’s Traffic Homicide Unit was called to investigate.

The collision involved a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck and a 2022 Ford Econoline bus. 

Authorities have not released additional information, and the investigation remains ongoing.
