Mary Jane Mooney, age 74, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Tilford “Tip” and Ruby Barbee. Sisters, Ann Hopkins (Levon) Marie Robertson (Dalton) and brother, Clinton Barbee (Martha).
Mary is survived by her husband Terry Mooney, daughter Sherry Jane Gammon (Tony), Lori Bates (Nicholas), son Kevin Mooney (Randi), and brother Greg Barbee (Carolyn), grandchildren Blake Gammon (Chelsey), Makenzie Williams (Tyler), Kaitlyn Mooney. Brayden Mooney, Wilder J. Bates, great grandchildren Fisher Gammon, Kenzly Mae Williams, Hunt Williams, Haisy Jane Williams and Shepard Gammon and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane Mooney was a devoted member of Living Faith Baptist Church for over 30 years and her passion for the Lord was obvious. She was a member of Living Faith Baptist Singers for over 25 years but enjoyed spreading the gospel and singing at church on Sundays. We know that she is resting happily and rejoicing in union with our Lord and Savior and so even through our tears we find comfort in the knowledge that she is watching over us.
Mary’s love for her family was boundless, and she found pure delight in watching them grow, cheering them on in every triumph and comforting them in every storm. Her proudest role, was being “nanny”
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Living Faith Baptist Church, 44 Schaeffel Rd, Cullman, AL 35055, until the funeral service at 2 p.m. The interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, 5400 US Highway 278 W, Cullman, AL 35057.
The Pallbearers will be Tony Gammon, Kevin Mooney, Nicholas Bates, Tyler Williams, Brayden Mooney and Blake Gammon. Honorary pallbearers Fisher Gammon and Hunt Williams
