Gudger announces $100K in additional funding for Holly Pond High School

HOLLY POND, Ala. – Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger, R-Cullman, visited Holly Pond High School on Wednesday, June 18, to announce he has secured an additional $100,000 in State funding to supplement its educational efforts and progress.

Gudger was surrounded by Holly Pond High Principal Dr. Nate Ayers, Holly Pond Mayor Carla Hart, former Rep. Randall Shedd, school board member Heath Allbright and several of the school’s students and teachers as he presented a ceremonial check representing the funding.

“I am impressed with all that Dr. Ayers and his team have accomplished at Holly Pond High School, and I know that this additional funding will provide even more educational opportunities for the students enrolled here,” Gudger said. “The commitment to education is evident across the Holly Pond High campus, and I am honored to secured this funding fulfill the school’s request for additional dollars.”

Gudger noted that the entire Holly Pond community is involved with and supportive of the high school, its mission and its success, and he credited that widespread local support for much of its success.

Gudger’s office said the additional funding will be sent from Montgomery to the local school system and earmarked specifically for Holly Pond High School.
