CULLMAN, Ala. – Heirlooms Fine & Performing Arts will present “Disney’s Dare to Dream Jr.,”a nostalgic celebration of Disney dreams, music and magic on Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30, at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Church in Cullman. Tickets are $5 at the door and children ages 3 and younger get in free.
“’Disney’s Dare to Dream Jr.’ follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio,” said Paige Clabo, founder and artistic director of Heirlooms. “As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire and make anything possible.”
Clabo described the show as a “high-energy, ’90s-inspired take where Disney’s favorite dreamers meet the retro fun of the Mickey Mouse Club.” She added, “With throwback tunes, bold characters and big dance moves, this show celebrates courage, creativity and the magic of believing in yourself — ’90s style!”
The production is the result of a 12-week spring program involving students of various ages and performance backgrounds. “Heirlooms spring program classes have been working for 12 weeks to make this show happen. We are proud to be able to present a family friendly start to the summer with Disney favorites,” Clabo stated. “These students are all ages and have different levels of performance experience, which makes this show incredibly special. Seeing children of all ages on stage together is really something amazing.”
