CULLMAN, Ala. – Senate President Pro Tempore Garlan Gudger this week announced that he secured $250,000 in state funding for Good Samaritan Health Clinic in Cullman.

According to Gudger’s office, over the past year, Gudger has brought home a total of $1.25 million in funding from Montgomery for Good Samaritan and the health care services it provides to the community.

“Good Samaritan Health Clinic is a crucial lifeline for lower income working men and women in my Senate district,” Gudger said. “The quality care they deliver, the lab testing they conduct and the medicines they provide have improved the health and saved the lives of countless individuals throughout our community, and these funds will help that important mission continue.”

Gudger’s office said he got the $250,000 appropriated in the State’s General Fund Budget, which was signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey on May 5, 2025. The other $1 million came from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and was announced on May 13, 2024.

Good Samaritan delivers sustainable, long-term health care to the uninsured members of the Cullman community, and among the services it provides are treatment of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, high cholesterol and COPD; dental extractions; mental health counseling; hearing evaluations; vision care for high-risk individuals; and other social services.
