FAIRVIEW, Ala. – After picking up a win over Sardis last week, the Fairview Aggies were back home at Dafford Smith Stadium Friday night for a region matchup against East Limestone. The Aggies got off to a slow start in the opening period but continued to build momentum as the game went on, eventually pulling away to collect a 42-0 win over the Indians.

After a big run from Carson Jones moved the Aggies’ offense deep into East Limestone territory, Fairview was stopped on fourth down a few plays later, turning the ball over to the Indians. The Aggies turned it over on downs on their next possession as well, but Fairview’s defense kept East Limestone off the board and Fairview’s offense began to find its rhythm late in the first quarter.

After a scoreless first quarter, quarterback Kolt Redding ran one into the end zone from 4 yards out to put the Aggies in front 7-0 at the start of the second. Fairview added to its lead on its next possession when Jake Harper punched one into the end zone from a yard out to make it a 14-0 game with four minutes remaining in the second quarter. As they’ve done several times this season, the Aggies were able to get some points on the board in the final moments of the half. After a big run from Jones got Fairview down inside the 30-yard line, Harper scored from 10 yards out just a couple plays later to put the Aggies ahead 21-0 with 32 seconds to play in the second quarter.

Fairview’s offense stayed hot when play resumed for the third quarter, starting with a 25-yard touchdown run from Jones that stretched the lead to 28-0. Midway through the third, Redding connected with Conner Scott through the air for another Aggies touchdown to make it a 35-0 game. With less than two minutes remaining in the third, Redding hit Blake Rickard down field for a 45-yard touchdown to give Fairview a 42-0 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

A lot of younger Aggies got the opportunity to play in the final frame and they were able to keep the Indians off the board to preserve the shutout and wrap up a 42-0 win for Fairview.

The Aggies improve to 8-0 with the win and they’ll travel to Good Hope next week for a massive matchup with the unbeaten Raiders.
