HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs collected their first win of the season at Carbon Hill last week, but they had a tougher test on their hand when they faced Oakman at Ray Talley Stadium Friday night. Five new members of the Bulldog Wall of Fame were inducted before the game but once we kicked things off, the Wildcats dominated from start to finish, defeating the Bulldogs 54-7.

Oakman jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and added two more touchdowns in the second quarter to extend its lead to 34-0 at halftime.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the third quarter when Drake Bentley scooped up a fumble and returned it 85 yards for a Hanceville touchdown. Dylan Lazzaro drilled the extra point to make it a 47-7 game late in the third quarter.

Unfortunately for the home crowd, those were the only points the Bulldogs were able to put on the board and Oakman left Hanceville with a 54-7 win.

The Bulldogs fall to 1-4 with the loss and they’ll be off next week before traveling Vinemont on Oct. 4.
