Horton woman dies after Cullman County crash

CULLMAN, Ala. – A Horton woman died after being involved in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Cullman County.

Alabama State Troopers said Shelia F. Sisson, 74, was critically injured when the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt she was driving was struck by a 2020 Ford Fusion driven by a 17-year-old. 

Sisson was injured and transported to Cullman Regional, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 278 near the 86 mile marker, approximately 7 miles east of Cullman, in Cullman County. 

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
