CULLMAN, Ala. The Cullman County Board of Education at its October meeting approved the hiring of Scott Brown as the next principal of Good Hope High School. Brown is a 27-year educator in the Cullman County system. He replaces Dr. John Hood, who is retiring, effective Nov. 1, 2023.

“I am thankful for the great things that Dr. Hood has done while leading Good Hope High School and wish him the best as he takes on a new challenge on the college level,” said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County Schools superintendent. “While Dr. Hood is leaving the school in a good position, I am excited to be able to hire Mr. Scott Brown as the school’s next principal. I am confident that he will lead this faculty, staff and community as it continues its tradition of excellence. Mr. Brown brings a wealth of experience working with students to help them succeed.

Brown is currently the assistant principal of Good Hope Middle School.

“I am proud to have been part of the Good Hope family the last five years and I am excited to be stepping into a new role as high school principal,” said Brown. “We have great students, outstanding teachers, supportive parents and community members that make Good Hope a wonderful place to be. It’s great to be a Raider!”
