HOLLY POND, Ala. – On Friday, June 16, BNF Metals held its grand opening at its new location at 11615 U.S. Highway 278 E in Holly Pond, on the site of the old Gibbs Garden Center on the east side of Holly Pond. Owners Jared and Kara Ibrahim were joined by Holly Pond Mayor Carla Hart and Councilwomen Deborah Holcomb and Gladys Wisener. The company was previously located in Baileyton.

“We performed a ribbon cutting,” said Hart, “the same as we try to do for every new business that enters Holly Pond. We want every business to know that when they come here, they are welcomed with open arms and that we wish them well in all they do.”

Jared Ibrahim told The Tribune, “Me and my family is super proud to be in Holly Pond, and we’re looking forward to serving the community.  It’s already been great; great support around the community so far, and we’re looking forward to the months and years to come.”

The metal recycling facility specializes in nonferrous metals such as aluminum, brass and copper, but accepts all metals, from small scrap to cars.

Some concern has been raised about the location of a scrap yard within the town, but both Hart and Ibrahim have assured residents that the facility will operate within the law and environmental regulations.

Said Ibrahim, “I’ve been doing this for about six years now, and I make sure that I get all my permits, licenses, anything that I need.  I want to do it right by state law, local law, and I want to do it right for the community as well.”
