Jackie O’Dell Mikel, Jr., 26, of Hanceville, Alabama, passed away on May 16, 2023. D.J. was born in Cullman County, Alabama, on October 14, 1996, to Jackie O’Dell Mikel, Sr., and Angela Danielle Salter.
D.J. was a sweetheart, but he also had a mischievous side. He loved to eat, enjoyed flashing lights and loud stereos, delighted in wrestling, and was a professional sock twirler. D.J. has lived a great life and brought great joy to his family. He will be missed so very much and remembered with love for the beautiful young man he was.
Mr. Mikel is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Billy Mikel Sr., and Johnny Salter, as well as his grandmother, Shelia Davenport.
D.J. is survived by his father, Dell Mikel, Sr.; mother, Angela Lovett; grandmother, Linda Salter; step-grandmother, Michelle Mikel; brothers and sisters, Tyler Salter (Kayla), Kattie Bryant (B.J.), Sabrina Mikel, Billy Mikel, and McKenzie Mikel; uncle, Jimmy Mikel (Tiffany); great-uncle, Bobby Mikel; and a large loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for D.J. at a later time.
