Reverend Horace R. Hall, 86, passed away on Monday, May 1 2023, at 12:55 a.m. He was affectionately known by his host of friends and church families as Bro. Hall, and he was known as PawPaw by his grandchildren. Bro. Hall was born on April 4, 1937, in Tuscaloosa County.
Bro. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, William D. and Lucille Ward Hall; sisters, Nita Horn, Trixie Boyd, and Charlotte Bryant; and brothers, William Lee Hall and Daniel Hall.
Bro. Hall was survived by his “main woman” and beautiful wife of 61 years, Charlie Mae Hall; daughters, DeeDee (Barry) Carden and Cindy Bohon; grandchildren, Alan Ross (Jenna) Bohon, Austin Carden, and Karlee (Montae) Pickens; great-grandchildren, Bentley Bohon and Blayklee Bohon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bro. Hall was called to preach in Sep. 1966 and attended Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, FL. In his 53 years of ministry, he pastored six Southern Baptist churches, Beulah Baptist in Dothan, AL, New Hope Baptist in Romulus, AL, New Haven Baptist in Greensboro, AL, First Baptist Church of Fairview in Cullman, AL, First Baptist Church of Holly Pond in Holly Pond, AL. He pastored First Baptist Church of Fairview for 22 years and stood as Pastor Emeritus.
Visitation will be Tuesday May 2, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home in Cullman, AL. Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fairview, and he will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.
