Christmas continues in Cullman

CULLMAN, Ala. – Christmas continues in Cullman County as the countdown to Christmas Day begins. Below are some upcoming events. 

Saturday, Dec. 17 

  • Winter Market  

Saturday, Dec. 17 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 

Sunday, Dec. 18 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 

Warrior Way Market is hosting the second annual Winter Market at the Cullman County Child Development Center. Over 70 participating vendors will provide countless holiday gifts available for purchase. More information is available at www.facebook.com/warriorwaymarket. The Cullman County Child Development Center is located at 17600 U.S. Highway 31 in Vinemont.   

  • “The Nutcracker” 

Saturday, Dec. 17 6 p.m. 

Sunday, Dec. 18  2:30 p.m. 

The Cullman Ballet Theatre School presents the perennial holiday classic “The Nutcracker” at Wallace State Community College’s Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre.   

Tickets for this weekend’s performances are available for $15 online at www.etix.com/ticket/o/10033/cullmanballettheatreschool. Balcony seat tickets will be available at the door for $20 (cash only). No other tickets will be available for purchase at the door. 

  • Parkside Outreach Christmas Open House 

9 a.m. 

Activities for children and Santa Claus will be available at the outreach in Baileyton. 

  • Third Rock Revival’s Shopping at Karma’s 

8 a.m.-6 p.m. 

Vinyl records, vintage gifts and clothing will be back for holiday shoppers at Karma’s Coffee House. 

  • Christmas Trivia Night at Goat Island Brewing 

7-9 p.m. 

Hosted by Matt Mitchell, the free event will test your Christmas movie knowledge during a night of food and fun. A food truck will be on site and no pre-registration is required. Prizes for first-, second- and third-place teams, plus prizes for best team name, best wrong answer and more. 

  • Baileyton Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Drive Thru 

6-8 p.m. 

Hamburgers, hot dogs and a toy for children will be provided by the Town of Baileyton, Baileyton Volunteer Fire Department, Jennifer Harlow and Parkside Outreach. Santa will be visiting at the event at the fire department.  

Sunday, Dec. 18 

  • Santa with Cullman County Home Builders 

St. John’s Church Christ Hall 

2-5 p.m. 

Santa will be available for free photos. Monetary donations accepted for the family of Jason McCollum and drawdown tickets and playhouse raffle tickets available for sale. 

Ongoing 

  • Christmas at the Ave Maria Grotto  

5-9 p.m. 

Dec. 16-17 (wagon rides), 19-22, 23 (wagon rides), 26. Christmas lights highlighting the Grotto with music and refreshments. Wagon rides through the woods on select dates. Admission costs range from $7-$10 with children ages 4 and younger free. Wagon rides are $10 for adults and $5 for children. 

  • 20th Annual Sportsman Lake Park Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display  

5-9 p.m. 

Dec. 15-23, 26-30  

Over a million lights twinkle along the winter wonderland with the Christmas train, snow machine, carriage rides, photo booth and hot chocolate for $10 per vehicle.
