Wallace State Community College recently accepted a $7,000 donation for its Industry Education Recruitment Funding Program from the U.S. Poultry Foundation. The gift is meant to aid in recruitment and retention of students in the Poultry Science program at Wallace State and was given in part by Peco Foods. The Foundation was founded to provide funds to train and educate students for the advancement of the poultry industry.

Wallace State’s Poultry Science 2+2 option allows students to take two years of courses at WSCC before transferring to Auburn University to complete a bachelor’s degree in poultry science, with options to focus on production, processing and products, pre-veterinarian or food science. Registration for spring 2023 is currently underway, with classes starting Jan. 9.
